- 8,100 people are dying each day from AIDS, a treatable, preventable disease.
- ONE in five people around the world survives on less than ONE dollar a day.
- 6 million children die each year from hunger-related causes. This is an emergency for them, their children and their communities.
- Less than half of ONE percent of the US federal budget goes toward development assistance. This is an emergency for us, because we can help.
What is the ONE Campaign?
The ONE Campaign is for people like you who care and want to know simple things you can do to help. ONE is a new effort by Americans to rally Americans – ONE by ONE – to fight the emergency of global AIDS, extreme poverty and chronic hunger. The ONE Campaign is engaging Americans across the nation – in churches and businesses, online and on college campuses, at community meetings and concerts. ONE is showing people the steps they can take to fight global AIDS, hunger and poverty.
Each ONE of us can make a difference.
Together as ONE we can change the world.
Step ONE: Sign the Declaration
Step TWO: Learn More
Step THREE: Get Involved
By joining as ONE:
- We can help prevent 10 million children from becoming
AIDS orphans. - We can help get 104 million children into grade school.
- We can help provide water to almost 900 million people
around the globe. - We can save almost 6.5 million children under the age
of five from dying of diseases that could be prevented
with low-cost measures like vaccination or a well for
clean water. - We can build a better, safer world for all.
- We can achieve all this by directing an amount equal
to merely ONE percent more of the US federal budget towards
fighting AIDS, extreme poverty and hunger.
