Funny though, his one critique, that I did too much of the talking, was the same thing my wife said! :)

Dude, that's jsut the way you've done things the entire time I've known you, from Shine to Guy's Group, to Via Christus. The way you speak is to set sparks in our mind and get us thinking about what exactly is going on with whatever we're talking about, engaging ourselves. The choice to ask questions is largely personal. That's just the way things go, and I for one kinda enjoy the way you talk, because you always lead us into the segways where we have activities or discussions, but always seem to keep it dead on topic.

Mike,
Connections are so crazy. I posted a thread on the Ooze recently about the ebay atheist, never dreaming that Via Christus would be one that Hement visited, and never dreaming that I would have just finished with a small connection of my own to your church. How heartening to read such a positive response to your church. I like what Marty said about how it feels really good to be a part of trying to overcome the prejudices that Christians and Atheists have had about one another. Maybe it's because I have loved ones who are Atheists that I learned a long time ago that "love one another" didn't have any qualifications tacked on to the end of that command.
P.S. "Endorsed by the eBay Atheist" would make an interesting postcard, wouldn't it?! :)
Thanks Marty, I appreciate your kind words. You're always welcome to come and visit us if you're ever in the Chicago area.
I take it as a strong compliment that someone like Hemant would feel comfortable in our church. It tells me that we're headed in the right direction.
Blessings,
-Mike
