After two months of limbo we've finally determined what direction our lives will be taking next. In connection with a group called Midwest Church Planting (associated with the Churches of God, General Conference) we'll be planting an emerging church somewhere in the greater Chicagoland area. For several years now Julie and I have recognized the need for an emerging church here that truly embodies a missional, kingdom-centered approach to life and ministry. We look forward to the challenge of planting a church that is based on the values that we've come to feel so passionately about over these past few years.

The first step is a six-month internship with LifeSpring Community Church in Plainfield IL, the primary parent church. We'll start that at the beginning of July. From there we'll be forming a core group to launch the church, with a launch date in fall of 2006. Midwest Church Planting will provide some of our support during that time, and I'll also be taking a part-time job to further supplement our income. In addition we'll need to raise approximately $1000/month to meet personal and church planting expenses. Please keep this whole process in prayer. It's going to be an exciting adventure!
