A Progressive Christian Radio Station?!
Would you be interested in an alternative to the monopoly of conservative Christian talk radio? How about a station that featured programs hosted by Tony Campolo, Brian McLaren, Jim Wallis, Bob Edgar, Doug Pagitt, and Tony Jones? How about programs that looked at issues from a progressive, emergent perspective?

Well, our friends at the Christian Networks Journal, an award-winning nationwide quarterly magazine that provides balanced and in-depth discussion on current issues and faith, is in talks with satellite radio about creating a new type of Christian talk station. The satellite radio providers have said they love the concept and will add it to their line-up if we can prove that people would listen to it. If you are someone that is under-served by traditional conservative Christian talk radio, but would listen to Christian talk radio if there were an alternative (which was balanced, in-depth and progressive), this is your opportunity to make it happen! If so, please click the link below to sign our petition. In this way, you will help prove to satellite radio that a market for this type of talk radio exists. The quicker we can do this, the quicker the station can be on the air!

If you would like some help showing that there is a market for this type of thing, google "progressive christian radio." There are a couple places already doing it locally (including here in Southern Illinois - check out our blog), and there are lots of other places online where people mention wishing it existed. :) It would not be hard to put together with the voices you have mentioned, and hey, maybe some of us doing local shows already could get involved somehow. :)
