Late Night Adventure
So we had a little bit of a scare tonight. We had just gotten home from shopping and dinner, put Emma to bed, and settled in to watch some Northern Exposure when our smoke detectors started going off. We didn't see or smell any smoke anywhere in the house, but we had had a power surge about ten minutes before, so we were worried there might be an electrical fire in the walls or something. Anyhow, we got Emma up (she thought it was a fun game) and drove the car out to the street while we called the fire department. They came through with a heat-sensing camera but didn't detect any problems. They suspected that we had a faulty smoke detector and suggested disconnected the downstairs one that seemed to be causing the trouble. That did the trick.

Hopefully that's all it was. For a while there we were pretty worried. Thankfully nothing too exciting came of it.

Sorry about the trouble, but I'm glad you're all okay.
