Jim Wallis on the Daily Show
Jim Wallis, head of
Sojourners, was on the
Daily Show the other night to promote his new book
The Great Awakening. I was impressed by everything he had to say. You can watch the interview
here.

It'd be nice if more of the televised discussion of religion were of this sort. Kudos to Wallis for getting those ideas on the airwaves.
And kudos to Stewart for "Don't all sides always try to use religion as the underpinnings of their movement?"

I don't want to sound like a shill for his book, but one way to help more of this sort of discussion get on the airwaves is to buy Wallis' book. The better the book does (especially if it makes it onto the bestseller list) the more likely it is that networks and news programs will ask Wallis to come on to talk about it, and to come back as a voice of progressive Christianity in other discussions as well.
