Happy Birthday to Me!
Oh yeah, and it's my birthday today! For just under a month I'm actually the same age as my wife (26) and then she'll surpass me again. 26 doesn't really feel much different than 25, though it is strange to think that I'm now older than 1/4 a century. I guess I'm still too young yet to worry much about getting older. In fact, right now I'm feeling a little bit of that old desire to be older than I am, if only because of my desire to be a church planter and yet feeling like I'm still too young and inexperienced for it.

Ah well...

Happy Birthday - and don't worry - you'll get some more years quickly enough!!! And I don't mean "oh, listen to someone older than you, yada..., yada..., yada...! It's just that my husband and I are celebrating too - our 19th anniversary today, and I CAN'T believe that it's been that many years already!! It seems like just a couple of years...

Hope you are enjoying your birthday!

Hey guy,

You don't know me...but happy birthday.

I found your blog through theooze and i felt as though you were writing my story...right down to your age. My family is also struggling with much of the same issues in our church and with our position as youth pastor(s) here. The only difference is that the rather than the senior pastor thinking i'm a heretic he is unwilling to move in a postmodern direction (even though he feels he should)...he doesn't want to tramatize the church. Very frustrating none the less. We will pray for you and your family in these days and hopefully you will be encouraged that you are not the only family in these trails these days. As new ideas of church emerge there will be fallout and casualities along the way...i don't know if i'd go so far as to say martyrs but definitely look to the challenge Martin Luther faced in the Reformation...challenging but necessary. Blesssings.

I got to this a couple days too late!

Anyway, happy birthday, Mike! I'm so glad God made you, and I'm grateful for knowing you.

Looking forward to seeing you and Julie to watch movies in a couple weeks!
