Nanette Sawyer and Wicker Park Grace
This past week Julie and I connected with a really cool pastor of a church down in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago. Her name is Nanette Sawyer and the church is Wicker Park Grace. Nanette is part of the Emergent Village Coordinating Group and is an ordained minister in the PC(USA). She was recently interviewed about her faith journey by 30 Good Minutes, a weekly ecumenical and interfaith program on WTTW 11 (PBS) in Chicago. The video is fantastic and can be found in the Spiritual Journey's section of this page (scroll down, on the right).

Wicker Park Grace Describes itself this way:

Wicker Park Grace offers an invitation to individuals who are seeking an authentic encounter with Spirit and Community.

Through activities in the neighborhood such as open conversations about spirituality, intellectually honest discussions about the bible, poetry jams, service projects, and creative worship events, we seek to engage our hearts, hands, and minds in a sincere exploration of questions of faith.

Through building relationships within the neighborhood, we seek to encounter a deeper experience of Christ's message of love and grace, hospitality, and radical welcome of the stranger. We hope especially to discover and embody new ways of being Christian in active and loving relationship with a pluralistic world.

Very cool...
