This has been a crazy week. While we were expecting a quiet holiday weekend at home since Julie can't travel (and actually looking forward to taking several days off of work), instead we've spent the last few days in the hospital. Julie went in Tuesday night with bad cramps, and they've kept her there since, telling us that she's having minor contractions, dilating, and possibly has some sort of infection. So now she's stuck there at the hospital hooked up to all kinds of monitors, and not having any clue of when they'll actually let her come home (they keep telling her it could be in a few hours, but then the doctor only shows up for two minutes of every day, and only stays just long enough to tell her they're going to keep her another night).
So now I'm worried for our baby, and frustrated with the hospital that they can't give us any firm prognosis for what's happening and what it's going to take to make things better. And of course, our quiet holiday weekend has just been shot now.
And here Julie thought that the worse part of being pregnant would be getting fat!...

Hey Mike, I want you to know that I am praying for you, Julie, and your baby. Please keep us updated and let me know if there's anything you need, or if there's anything we can do for you...we're more than happy to help out any way we can.

doctors spend a few minutes in a patient's room quite often. but be reassured that they spend time before and after the room visit, reviewing the chart and the labs and asing the nurses for input, etc.
i know it would be better if they spent more time with Julie -- but maybe that knowledge will help a little?
i would rather have had you visit us over thanksgiving, like you planned! oh well -- may God be very near to both of you today. you're on my mind.

Thanks for the tip Tammy! To be honest, after seeing the obscene hospital bill, I'm glad the doctors didn't stop in any more often than they did. Apparently 2-minutes of a doctor's time is worth several hundred dollars! Wish I could say the same about my job. ;)
