Dancing Girl
I've been crazy busy these past few days with the Yorkville Hometown Days. We have a church booth where we're selling stuff from Ten Thousand Villages. Though our church members have been helping staff shifts, I've still had to be there much of the time, setting up, tearing down, and doing shifts of my own.

It is fun to be around the fair though, to see all the folks from our town milling about, enjoying the music, and the carnival rides. It has been especially fun to see Emma enjoy the fair. Everytime we're their she begs to go on the "cars" - the carnival ride cars that go around in a circle. It's an absolute joy to see the look on her face as she gets to climb into the car all by herself, get strapped in and then turn the wheel as the ride goes round and round.

And then there's the dancing. Whenever there is music going Emma cannot stand still. She just starts grooving - wiggling and bopping to the music - or else just running around in circles with squeals of pure joy. She loves to dance. I can't help but laugh to watch her enjoying herself and moving to the music. It just makes my heart smile to see her uninhibited, free-spirited joy. I hope she never loses that.

Ah yes that boundless little girl joy. My little girl is 21. Don't worry, Emma won't lose that joy; during adolescence it might seem so, but she'll have just put it in her back pocket. With parents like you and Julie she'll bring it out again later. What a lucky kid.
