Julie's movie review on God's Politics

Julie was asked to write a review of Kirk Cameron's new movie "Fireproof" for Sojourner's God's Politics blog, so she took off for a few hours this Saturday to watch it (it's a "couples" movie, but I opted to stay home with the kids - explicitly Christian movies tend to make me want to hurl things at the screen.) Her review is up now and I personally think she did a fantastic job of critiquing the film's implicit subtext that women should be passive and silent partners in a marriage - that saving it is the man's job, and that it's the institution of marriage itself needs to be saved, even at the expense of the wife's individuality. Go check it out.
