Guns Save Lives?
Invariably when school shootings occur there will be pro-gun advocates who will suggest that these tragedies could be averted if 1) we allowed students to carry concealed weapons to class, or 2) we armed the teachers. The theory, I think, is that if the victims were armed, then they could shoot it out with the psychopaths and hopefully prevent more casualties.

Imagine how this story might have played out differently if either of those suggestions had been the case in Willoughby South High School in Willoughby, Ohio. What would have the teachers, students, or administrators first response to this troubled teen have been if they had been armed with more than just words and compassion? How many might have died?

The possibilities are frightening. Thank God these wise and courageous administrators saw a more peaceful way to defuse the situation.
