A conversation in my Old Testament discussion section:

Me: Maybe the NRSV isn't available online because it's the "liberal" Bible and since they don't believe God wrote it they're allowed to copyright it, whereas the evangelical translations are given away for free because they don't think it's theirs to copyright?

James: No, it's because they don't believe in the New Testament God who gives the scriptures graciously and freely. They believe in the harsh Old Testament God who demands royalties.

Me: So it's Marcionism as applied to copyright law?
